Earning The Sonographer Credential in Echocardiography
ICAEL DIVISION NEWS | Spring 2009

 

The ICAEL recognizes both the Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential granted by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and the Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential granted by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Information on the examinations and their prerequisites may be found on www.ardms.org and www.cci-online.org.

Though The ICAEL Standards include multiple pathways by which a technical staff member may document experience and training, the ICAEL encourages that all staff members acquire an appropriate credential in echocardiography.
