ICANL DIVISION NEWS | Summer 2008

The ICANL Welcomes Thomas Roy, CNMT, RT(N)
As New Associate Technical Manager

Thomas Roy, CNMT, RT(N) joined the ICANL staff as Associate Technical Manager in April 2008. The role of Associate Technical Manager is one that augments the level of technical expertise that the ICANL offers to laboratories. Mr. Roy works directly with the ICANL Technical Manager Mary Beth Farrell, MS, CNMT, NCT, RT(N) on clinically related aspects of the accreditation process.

Prior to joining the ICANL, Mr. Roy was Director of Nuclear Medicine and Manager of the Diagnostic Center at Riverside Medical Diagnostic Center, in Riverdale, MD. During his seven years at Riverside, he was responsible for managing the laboratory, performing nuclear cardiology studies, supervising cardiovascular lab technologists and coordinating studies with physicians. Previously he worked for 23 years as a Senior Technologist at Prince Georges Hospital Center, in Cheverly, MD. Mr. Roy is also a member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine.

When asked about his new position at the ICANL, Mr. Roy remarked, "My previous years of experience as an ICANL site visitor and reviewer will be a great asset, and I am excited about working with Nuclear Medicine labs to achieve their goal of earning ICANL accreditation."

Technical questions may be directed to Mr. Roy by phone at 800.838.2110 or via email at roy@intersocietal.org.
